Our contribution
Everyone at Russell McVeagh has the opportunity to contribute their time, skills, or resources towards making a difference. From our work with social enterprises, to our pro bono programmes, sponsorships, and charitable partnerships, our focus is on working alongside our local communities to achieve positive social and environmental impact.
Our people are keen to be actively involved and we have number of initiatives to support this. Each year, our teams are encouraged to spend one workday volunteering for a charity of their choice. As a firm, we also support our people to organise fundraisers and events for causes they're invested in, ranging from bake sales for Breast Cancer Awareness, a charity drive for donations to the Auckland City Mission, Movember or Sweat With Pride – our calendar is packed with opportunities to get involved.
Pro bono
The law is our bread and butter, and we know that using our skills and knowledge to provide free legal support is one of the most valuable contributions we can make.
Pro bono forms a core component of our business and culture, and we have a long history of directing our skills and resources towards making a difference. Our relationships with Community Law Centres in Māngere, and Wellington and the Hutt Valley, date back to the 1980s.
We're proud of our commitment to pro bono and the strong relationships we build with our communities as a result. Fundamentally, the support our firm provides comes from a desire to genuinely make a difference and contribute in the best way we know how.
Joining forces for a better future
We are proud to be a foundation participant in the Framework for Collaborative Pro Bono in Aotearoa. This national network aims to enhance access to justice for all New Zealanders by fostering collaboration and supporting pro bono culture across the motu. Read more here.
