We are proud to support a large number of charities, not-for-profits, and social enterprises in the work they are doing to improve outcomes for the people and communities of Aotearoa New Zealand.
In our 2024 edition of our Pro Bono Overview - Assisting our communities in Aotearoa New Zealand (pdf), we're excited to share our work over the last year with some of the country's most forward-thinking organisations, including:
- Ākina - an impact consultancy that provides capability building support and coaching on how to achieve better social and environmental outcomes to social enterprises and other organisations.
- Bridget Williams Books - a New Zealand publisher with a particular focus on Māori history and perspectives.
- Community Law centres - a provider of free legal advice to members of the community who might otherwise not have access to this type of help.
- Cure Kids - a charity whose mission it is to invest in research to transform the health of children across Aotearoa New Zealand and the largest funder of child health research outside the government.
- KIWI K.A.R.E. - a provider of critical aid and refugee evacuation services to the people of Ukraine.
Local Community Law centres - a provider of free legal advice to members of the community who might otherwise not have access to this legal advice. - Mahi for Ukraine - an advocacy group helping Ukrainians impacted by the war through aid, immigration, and other humanitarian efforts.
- Neurodiversity in Education Project - supports teachers, schools, tertiaries and policy-makers to build a neuroinclusive education system.
- Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust - responsible for the collective affairs of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, which is one of the hapū from the wider Ngāti Whātua iwi.
- Northern Rescue Helicopter - operator of a dedicated air ambulance and emergency service provider to the Northland area.
- Predator Free Wellington - a charity transforming the Wellington area into a predator free zone.
- RainbowYOUTH - an incorporated society supporting young people in the rainbow community and their support networks with helpful information, services and resources.
- Rainbow Games - an inclusive multi-sporting event held for the first time in 2024.
- Spiral Collectives - supporting the creative practices and legacies of women in Aotearoa.
- Te Ara Ture - an accessible online clearing house for pro bono work.
- Zealandia Ecosanctuary - operator of the urban ecosanctuary in the heart of Wellington.
These organisations do inspiring work each and every day to help some of Aotearoa's most vulnerable communities and groups that otherwise might not have the means to obtain quality legal advice. It is a pleasure to work alongside them to assist them in making positive change in Aotearoa.
