Profile

Rochelle is a senior associate in the Corporate Advisory Group with extensive experience advising on a range of corporate and commercial transactions, including acquisitions and divestments tendering and procurement (both in the public and private sector), specialist leasing arrangements, and advisory work. Rochelle's practice includes the specialty areas of government, public law and policy, infrastructure projects and transportation, shipping and logistics.

Prior to rejoining Russell McVeagh in 2018, Rochelle was a senior associate at Clifford Chance, London.

Experience

Rochelle’s experience includes:

  • Acting for one of the sponsors on a social housing project in South Auckland. 
  • Advising GE Capital on the US$2.2 billion disposal of its European sponsor finance business to Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Europe Limited.
  • Advising GE Capital Real Estate on the acquisition of Deutsche Postbank's £1.4 billion portfolio of commercial real estate loans.
  • Advising Meridian Energy Limited on its NZ$821 million disposal of two hydro power stations to Genesis Energy.
  • Advising Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and German development bank, KfW Ipex-Bank GmbH in relation to the procurement and debt financing of 70 Hitachi manufactured electric multiple units for the ScotRail Franchise.
  • Advising the financiers in relation to the procurement of new CAF manufactured sleeper rolling for operation as part of the Caledonian Sleeper Rail Service.
  • Advising SMBC Aviation Capital on the combined PDP financing and sale and leaseback of four new A350-900 aircraft, to be operated by Asiana Airlines.
  • Advising the lenders on multiple JOLCO financings.
  • Acting for a UK rail franchise operator in relation to its procurement of 116 dual voltage rolling strock vehicles manufactured by Bombardier Transportation UK Limited.
  • Advising KiwiRail on its balance sheet restructuring, on the procurement of $800 million of new metro rolling stock and associated depot (new construction) and services, and on long term bilateral access agreements to the rail network and multilateral Common Access Terms.
