Emily is a senior associate in the firm's Corporate Advisory team. She has extensive experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures and commercial contracts for listed and unlisted clients in the energy, insurance, banking, telecommunications, FMCG, pharmaceuticals and oil and gas sectors.
 
Before joining Russell McVeagh in September 2019, Emily worked at another large New Zealand law firm. Prior to that she worked in Johannesburg for ENSafrica (the largest tier one firm in Africa) where she advised on several high profile transactions.

  • UDC Finance on its acquisition of Bank of Queensland's New Zealand portfolio assets including commercial loans and finance and operating leases valued at c. NZ$230m.
  • QIC Private Capital on the successful completion of its purchase of 50% of Vector Limited's New Zealand and Australian metering business.
  • Westpac Group on the sale of its New Zealand life insurance business to Fidelity Life for NZ$400m.
  • UDC Finance on its $212m acquisition of Bank of Queensland's New Zealand structured financing business.
  • Tax Traders on the divestment of a 19% minority stake in Tax Traders to Kiwisaver provider Simplicity.
  • UDC Finance on its $213m acquisition of the Giltrap Group's automotive financing business.
  • The under-bidder for Ziwi Pet Food.
