David joined Russell McVeagh in early 2024 from a specialist commercial property law firm in Auckland.

His recent experience includes advising:

• Precinct Properties in relation to the negotiation of development agreements for the PwC Tower at Commercial Bay;

• Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad in relation to its entry into the New Zealand market, most notably the negotiation of the development agreement and acquisition of development rights in respect of the Te Waihorotiu (Aotea) Station mixed use over-station development, and associated overseas investment approval application;

• Kiwi Property Group in relation to the sale of the Westgate Lifestyle retail centre;

• Goodman in relation to various development, leasing and acquisition transactions across its industrial property portfolio, including the negotiation and implementation of various development agreements at Highbrook Business Park;

• KKR/Oyster Property Group joint venture in respect of its acquisition of the Central Park business park and ongoing leasing and development of the same;

• Oyster Property Group and its associated schemes/funds, including in respect of its acquisition of the Millennium Centre business park and ongoing leasing of the same;

• Sabina Limited with respect to the negotiation and documentation of New Zealand’s largest single lease transaction by value in 2021, involving redevelopment works and whole building lease to a major bank in downtown Auckland;

• Newcrest in relation to negotiation of the development agreement for its premium office tower at One Whitmore Street in Wellington and whole building lease to a major bank;

• Higgins Family Holdings in relation to the development of its industrial land portfolio throughout the North Island;

• Orams Marine in relation to its multi-use super yacht precinct, commercial and residential developments on the Auckland waterfront;
