NZX is currently reviewing and updating the NZX Corporate Governance Best Practice Code (Code) for the stated reasons of improving corporate governance practices generally, helping investors make informed decisions and aligning the Code with other relevant reporting frameworks.

Following the release of a discussion paper and an initial round of submissions, on 31 August 2016, NZX released a consultation paper that sought submissions in respect of proposed updates to the Code. These updates focus on board diversity, environmental, social and governance reporting, and remuneration reporting.

Russell McVeagh has recently made a submission on the consultation paper. This submission is available here or upon request.
