Meet our Rising Stars:
Property and Construction partner Caleb Hensman is quickly becoming one of the top Real Estate partners in the country. Becoming a partner in 2020 at the age of just 32, he has worked alongside some of the biggest names in New Zealand's real estate and construction industry. Caleb has established himself as an expert, advising clients on high-value property transactions and construction projects including Goodman Property Trust and GIC on the $635m sale of VXV Precinct in Wynyard Quarter in Auckland and is regularly invited to speak at conferences and webinars.
Banking and Finance expert Ling Yan Pang specialises in debt capital markets, structured finance and advises corporates and financial institutions on financial services regulation. She brings a solutions-driven approach in often complex transactions. Recently, she acted on the issuance of the first green bonds by a New Zealand corporate, and advised four of New Zealand's largest banks on the Reserve Bank's proposed residential mortgage backed securitisation standard – the first time the Reserve Bank has prescribed such criteria. Ling Yan also regularly contributes to thought leadership pieces and highly respected international publications, including co-authoring the New Zealand section in the 9th and 10th editions of the International Capital Markets Review.
Corporate lawyer Tom Gillespie has extensive experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures and venture capital transactions. He has become a well-known name in corporate law since returning from Singapore, having worked on several market-leading transactions. While known for his technical skills, Tom's soft skills also set him apart, including prioritising junior lawyer development by investing significant time in team trainings and feedback sessions with junior lawyers, coupled with his work ethic and great sense of humour.
The firm would like to congratulate all of the talented individuals recognised.
