Russell McVeagh Board member and partner Liz Blythe has been recognised on the inaugural NZ Part Time Power List 2024, which celebrates individuals at the top of their game who are working part time.
Liz has worked on a flexible 80% arrangement since December 2022, following the arrival of her daughter. As well as heading up the Technology, Digital and Strategic Sourcing team, Liz became a member of the Russell McVeagh Board in February this year, and prior to that was co-chair of the firm's Recruitment Committee for a number of years.
Liz is independently recognised in the main legal directories and was twice named TMT 'Lawyer of the Year' at the 2021 and 2020 Asia Pacific Women in Business Law Awards; won 'Young Private Practice Lawyer of the Year' at the 2019 NZ Law Awards; and was named a 2020 'Rising Star' by NZ Lawyer Magazine.
"For me, success is being able to show up and be at my best for my clients and Russell McVeagh, while still being able to show up and be my best for my daughter on her first day of kindergarten. It's helping to normalise different pathways for women to be successful in our industry, while still having the energy at the end of the day for lounge room dance parties with my two-year-old.

There are two key ingredients that have been essential for me: learning to be confident in myself and the contribution I'm making (both at work and at home); and having the unwavering support of an incredible team around me, including my amazing colleagues and ever-supportive family."
