Anna advises on all aspects of property law and is trusted to deliver on the largest and most complex transactions in the market. 

Acting for institutional property investors and developers, Anna is known for achieving exceptional commercial outcomes in the delivery of projects which are helping to reshape New Zealand. She has particular expertise in high value acquisition and divestment transactions, inbound overseas investment, retail and commercial leasing, forestry, hotel management and master-planned residential development.

Experience

Anna has advised on the below matters:

  • KiwiRail on the redevelopment of the Wellington and Waitohi Picton terminals, and on its strategy for procuring land for the extension of the Auckland rail network. 
  • Wellington Water on all aspects of its capital works programmes. 
  • Precinct in connection with the development of Commercial Bay, a high rise office and retail development integrated with the City Rail Link.
  • SKYCITY on the property aspects of the New Zealand International Convention Centre and Horizon Hotel.
  • Goodman Property Trust in relation to its property acquisitions and divestments, including the acquisition of the Oji Fibre Solutions facility for $65m and the sales of Millennium Centre and Central Park business parks.
  • Hotel owners across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands on hotel management arrangements.
  • Government entities and iwi in settling historic grievances, including negotiating settlement agreements, and developing co-management and co-ownership structures between iwi, government entities and local landowners for parks and reserves.

Anna was elected to the Property Council New Zealand's governing body, its National Council, in March 2019. The National Council is committed to fostering and enabling quality urban growth and development in New Zealand.

Anna is recognised for Real Estate law in New Zealand by the Chambers and Partners 2024 Guide and for Real Estate and Construction law in the 2024 Legal 500 Guide. She is recommended in Doyles Guide 2020 for Property and Real Estate law, and recognised in the Best Lawyers® 2024 New Zealand Guide.
